Controller Of Examination

The Office of the Controller Of Examinations was established in the year 2011 after the conferment of Autonomous status to the college. The responsibilities of the office are
- Preparing academic calendar which includes all the academic related activities.
- Conducting students examinations.
- Processing and publishing results in time.
- Issuing certificates such as Statement of Grade, Consolidated Statements of Grade and Transcripts.
- The COE also sends a list of successful candidates with their Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) to the Anna university, Chennai for issuing Provisional and Degree Certificates.

Eligible students from every discipline should register for the End Semester Examination on or before the last date.
The Exam Registration Consists Of The Following Steps:
- Obtain the application form and bank chalan for exam registration from the respective department office (Private candidate can collect the form in person from COE office).
- Fill all the necessary information in the application form.
- Fill up the bank chalan properly and remit the fee in the counter of the Indian Overseas Bank available in the campus.
- Submit the application form along with the bank chalan in the COE office on or before the last date during working hours on all working days.
- Under any circumstances the applications will not be received after the last date.
- Partial registration is not permitted.
- Candidates who have noPenalty for late payment of fee and break in registration if any will be charged as prescribed by COE office.t registered for the End Semester Examination are not permitted to appear for the Regular/Arrear Examinations.
- Candidate must collect Hall Ticket from the respective Dept. office (private candidate can collect from COE office).

RULES OF THE EXAMINATIONS:
- A Candidate should neither possess/refer any forbidden material in any form nor should seek/obtain assistance in any form from any person/source towards answering the question during the examinations.
- He / She should not assist other candidates in any form towards answering the questions during the examinations.
- The candidate should not reveal his / her identity in any form in the answer scripts.
- The candidate should not indulge in canvassing either directly or indirectly to award more than deserving marks in the examinations.
- The candidate should maintain discipline and decorum during the examinations.
- Violation of the above rules in any form during the examinations will attract punishment ranging from levying fine to permanently debarring the candidate from continuing his / her studies as given below.

EXAMINATION TIMINGS:
Examinations with 3 hours duration FN session – 10.00 a.m to 1.00 p.m. AN session – 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. For the smooth conduct of the examinations, the candidates are requested to adhere to the following guidelines: The Candidates:- Have to check the Hall No. and seating plan daily.
- Have to enter the hall 15 minutes before the commencement of the examination and occupy their seat correctly.
- Are not allowed to enter the hall after 30 minutes from the commencement of the examination.
- Are to have Hall Ticket and Student Identity card in the hall.
- Should not be in possession of mobile phone, programmable calculator, pager and any notes or other written/ printed matter except as may be specifically permitted by the Chief Superintendent / Invigilator.
- Have to check the answer book is damaged /contains all the pages. No additional sheets will be issued.
- Have to check whether the Register Number, Degree/Branch, Subject code/ Name and Date of the exams are written correctly in the answer booklet.
- On receipt of question paper, have to verify the Subject code / Name and ensure that the correct question paper is received.
- Are prohibited from writing or leaving any distinguished marks so as to identify their paper.
- Should not detach any sheets from the answer booklet and answer booklet should not be taken out of the hall. Should not exchange any materials with other candidates inside the hall.
- Have to return back any data books/ charts/ manuals issued to them before leaving the hall.
- Have to ensure whether they signed in the attendance sheet before leaving the exam hall.
- Have to maintain silence inside the examination hall.
- Who resort to malpractice of any nature will be consider seriously and necessary disciplinary action will also be taken against them. It may lead to even, cancellation of all the exams written by them during the semester.
- Can report any missing data/figure or discrepancy in the question paper to the Invigilator inside the Hall.
- Can leave the exam hall for any emergency like natural calls/illness with the prior permission from the respective invigilator and with the assistance of supporting staff.
PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING DUPLICATE GRADE SHEET / CONSOLIDATED GRADE SHEET:
- Duplicate Grade Sheet / Consolidated Grade Sheet will be issued only when it is lost or destroyed irrevocably.
- Application should be made only by the candidate in the prescribed format and should be sent to the Controller of Examinations directly. Application received on behalf of the candidate will not be accepted.
- The following documents should be enclosed along with the application.
- a. Photo copy of the Grade Sheet / Consolidated Grade Sheet for which duplicate is required (if available)
- b. The demand draft / IOB challan for the fee.
- c. Non Traceable certificate from Police Department.
- Application should be complete in every respect. Failure to furnish correct details may cause delay in the issue of the duplicate.

- b. Consolidated Grade Sheet: Rs. 500/-
- Obtain the challan from COE office and remit the fee at Indian Overseas Bank, K.R.Nagar Branch (Or) The fee should be paid in the form of Demand Draft in favour of The Principal, National Engineering College, payable at Kovilpatti.
- Fees once paid will not be refunded nor adjusted for any other certificate under any circumstances.
- Duplicate Grade Sheet / Consolidated Grade Sheet is to be surrendered to the College immediately if the Original Grade Sheet / Consolidated Grade Sheet is recovered.
- After submitting the above documents, in person, along with a requisition letter, the duplicate grade sheet will be issued within 5 working days from the date of submission.
